Escape the city lights for a night of wonder! The Northern Lights, or the Aurora Borealis, are visible in Iceland after dark from late August. All you need to view them is clear skies, patience and a bit of luck.

Volcano Huts are located by the Húsadalur Valley in Þórsmörk, 30 kilometers up the famous F249 mountain road.
To reach Þórsmörk, you'll need to navigate gravel roads and cross rivers. We recommend enjoying this adventures ride in a modified 4x4 highland bus.
The easiest and safest way is to park your car and hop aboard the daily highland bus from Hvolsvöllur or Brú Base.
