Volcano Huts are located in the Húsadalur valley in Þórsmörk. Accommodation within the Þórsmörk Nature Reserve provides easy access to the best hiking trails in Iceland.
Glamping in fully furnished and comfortable tents is an ideal way to experience the Icelandic nature. The spacious tents are heated and fitted with twin or double beds, chairs to lounge in and tables to hold your luggage. Each tent has an electric air-blow heater so that you can set the temperature to your liking. Duvets, and soft blankets provide extra warmth and comfort. The restaurant, toilets and showers, are located in a building next to the camp, and the sauna and sitting pool are just a few steps away. In the evening you can sit by your tent and enjoy the view over the Þórsmörk mountains, or place yourself next to the campfire to exchange stories with fellow campers, over a refreshing drink.
The Eyjafjallajökull Cabin has fourteen small rooms with shared toilets in the hall of the building. All the rooms can be used as doubles or singles. The bunks have double lower beds and single upper beds.
The rooms are quite small but comfortable and include made-up beds for up to two for extra comfort.
Sauna, showers and a small sitting pool are accessible a few steps away from the building.
The Sheepherders Cottages are a perfect choice for families, couples and groups that want a bit of comfort and privacy. Each cottage houses up to 4-5 persons in bunk beds.
The cottages are rented as a sleeping bag accommodation but linen can be ordered for extra comfort for an extra fee.
The cottages are fitted with a small kitchenette, tableware, a kitchen table and chairs for 5 people. Each house has electric lighting, heating and cold running water.
Toilets are located a short distance away in our main service building. Sauna, showers and a natural warm pool are accessible in the LavaSPA a short distance from the cottages.
Our two Katla Mountain Huts provide a cosy and friendly hostel-style atmosphere with bunk beds and a sleeping loft. Each hut can sleep up to 16 persons or a total of 32 guests in our two huts.
Each cabin has cold running water and is fitted with a kettle to heat water, cups and glasses.
Please note that cooking & dining inside the dormitories is not permitted. Access to a guest dining hall nearby is included and shared with other visitors. Toilets are in both cabins and a hot shower is available in one of the two.
Both cabins can be rented out for private groups by request.
Our camping site in Þórsmörk offers spacious grounds, beautiful views and easy access to all the best hiking trails in Þórsmörk.
The price per person includes access to the showers, sauna and a sitting pool nearby.
All campers have access to an outdoor dining tent, but please note that cooking equipment is not provided. Guests will have to bring their own pots and pans, plates, cutlery and cups.
The camping site is open when the huts are open - check out the booking calendar for open dates. Reservations are not needed unless for groups of 10 or more people.

Guests who prefer to prepare their meals instead of dining at the Lava Grill Restaurant can use our indoor dining guest kitchen or outdoor dining tent if the kitchen is unavailable. Please note that we do not provide cooking or dining equipment, so bring your stove, cookware, dishes, cutlery and utensils.
Overnight guests have free access to these facilities, while day visitors can use them for a small fee, payable at the reception on-site.

Yes. Electric heaters are provided in all accommodations.
Linen and towels are included with made-up accommodations such as Glamping and Private Rooms. For Cottages and Dormitories, they are available as an optional rental. You can add linen to your booking during the reservation process. The rental includes a linen set, blanket, pillow, and towel.
Extra fold-out beds can be rented for a small fee with glamping tents. Child cots for children up to 5 years old are available on location free of charge. You can add fold-out beds and child cots to your reservation when you book your accommodation.
All accommodations have shared restrooms and showers. Toilets are located in or near each accommodation area and are accessible 24/7. Showers are available next to our service building and are included in all accommodation rates. Overnight guests also enjoy complimentary access to the sauna and small wading pool. Day visitors can use the showers, sauna, and pool for a small fee, with towel rentals available on-site.
