There is no place like Þórsmörk in autumn, the vibrant colors of various shades of yellow, red, orange, purple, and brown. Come with us and experience the magic of nature. 

We are going to start the day early and leave from BSÍ bus terminal at 08:00, on our journey there is plenty of time to get comfortable on the bus and relax for a fun day. Our expert tour leader will guide us through the area and make sure we wont miss the best parts.  

Our adventure starts with a hike into Stakkholtsgjá, a beautiful place and an easy walk that no one can miss. We make our way to Húsadalur, from there we will walk into Langidalur to the beginning of the hiking trail over Valahnúkur. The marked hiking trail is about 4km long with an elevation gain of about 220 meters and should therefore be suitable for most hikers. At the top of Valahnúkur, the view is spectacular over Eyjafjallajökull, Tindfjöll, Fjallabak and all of Þórsmörk. After a great hike we walk back to Húsadalur and have our packed lunch . 

We will stop at the Volcano Huts in Húsadalur where you can buy lunch or other refreshments.

Remember to dress according to weather

• Warm clothes, waterproof jacket, and sturdy shoes are recommended
• We recommend bringing thermal layers, a winter hat, scarf, gloves, and wearing warm socks for colder days 
• We will stop in Hvolsvöllur where it is available to purchase lunch.

All cancellations should be in writing and notified at least 24 hours prior to departure. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to departure will be charged full price.
